The Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department ran in the 33rd Annual JP Morgan Corporate Challenge on June 11th, 2009.

Runners from companies, such as Tiffany & Co., Air France, Pepsico and hundreds of other organizations, followed a 3.5 mile course through scenic Central Park.  Fittingly, proceeds from the event went to support the Central Park Conservancy.

Corporate organizations use the race as a platform to promote fitness and well-being in the work place.  For TMFD the Corporate Challenge falls in line with the department’s continued dedication to being physically prepared for emergencies.

Chief McCarthy summarized TMFD’s involvement by stating “Firefighting, managing emergencies, and being prepared for the unknown fire call, requires a certain level of fitness.  Participating in an event like this not only reinforces the department’s training, but allows us the chance to demonstrate that commitment to the community.”  Chief McCarthy singled out Ex-Chief Matthew Peloso for his role in managing the department’s involvement with the event.

Results from the race were as follows:

1.       Angelo Mancino 25 minutes

2.       Andres DeLasa 30 minutes
